Where Skills 1 asks whether the skater can hold a curve, Skills 2 asks whether they can leave one. Before 01/10/2026 its forward three turns were the first compulsory turns in the tests. Since then Skills 1 has them too, and Skills 2 keeps its own with a minimum of two lobes on each foot.

The rest is backward edges, a slalom that loses the second foot it was allowed in Skills 1, forward cross rolls, and the first mohawk the test asks for by name. Skills 1 lets a skater use one to get backwards; Skills 2 asks for it, in a sequence that runs a full circuit of the rink.

From 01/10/2026 there is a sixth exercise: the backward outside 3-turn, followed at once by an open mohawk. It is the first turn in the syllabus from backwards to forwards, a level earlier than the previous tests asked for one, and it makes this the level where turning becomes the subject. Below it, a turn is the way onto an edge.
