outside edge: the paler lineinside edge: the darker line
LBO → LBI. A skater who rotates the other way traces RBO: the same element, generated from this one.

Backwards from the outside edge to the inside, the curve reversing. Blind, and without the cusp or the gap that at least tells you a turn has occurred.

It is worth doing this slowly and listening. A clean change of edge is silent. A late one scrapes, because what actually happened was a moment on the flat with the weight in the wrong place, and the ice will tell you before your feet do.

Derived

LBO is three letters (foot, direction, edge): left foot, backwards, outside edge. Every edge in the guide is written that way, so RBI is a right foot travelling backwards on an inside edge.

LBO change of edge to LBI: the blade rolls from one edge to the other without pivoting, the direction of travel does not change, and the lobe reverses.

A skater who rotates the other way does the same thing from RBO. Same element, mirrored.
