RBI → RFO. A skater who rotates the other way traces LBI: the same element, generated from this one.

Backwards on an inside edge, one and a half rotations, out forwards on an outside one. That is the weakest entry edge turning into the strongest exit, and the exit is the reason to have it.

It is the least forgiving of the four. A back inside edge gives the rotation almost nothing to push against, so it has to be brought in with the shoulders and the free side and then held there, and the common result is a twizzle that turns one rotation cleanly and drags the last half round flat.

Derived

RBI is three letters (foot, direction, edge): right foot, backwards, inside edge. Every edge in the guide is written that way, so RBI is a right foot travelling backwards on an inside edge.

RBI 1½ twizzle to RFO: 1½ rotations on one foot, travelling, leaving one curl in the tracing and no cusp anywhere. The lobe continues, and the half rotation turns the skater to face the other way, which is why the edge letter changes without the blade ever changing which way it curves.

A skater who rotates the other way does the same thing from LBI. Same element, mirrored.
