inside edge: the darker line
RBI → RBI. A skater who rotates the other way traces LBI: the same element, generated from this one.

Backwards on an inside edge, one rotation, exiting on the edge it began on. The weakest of the four entries, because a back inside edge has the least lean to sit on and the least to check against. That is a reason to practise it.

It exposes the free hip more than the other three. Let it trail and the rotation runs out before the turn is finished, and the last quarter arrives as a scrape with no curl.

Derived

RBI is three letters (foot, direction, edge): right foot, backwards, inside edge. Every edge in the guide is written that way, so RBI is a right foot travelling backwards on an inside edge.

RBI twizzle to RBI: one rotation on one foot, travelling, leaving one curl in the tracing and no cusp anywhere. The lobe continues, because a curl cannot curve against itself.

A skater who rotates the other way does the same thing from LBI. Same element, mirrored.
