A counter from a backward edge into a step onto the other foot. Blind entry, reversed lobe, then a change of foot on the new curve.
The step is what saves it. A counter’s exit is a difficult edge to hold for long, and stepping off it before it decays is easier than sustaining it. That is presumably why this cluster exists alongside the counter on its own.
Derived
RBI is three letters (foot, direction, edge): right foot, backwards, inside edge. Every edge in the guide is written that way, so RBI is a right foot travelling backwards on an inside edge.
RBI, counter to RFI, then mohawk to LBI. 2 turns on two feet, and the skater finishes on LBI.
Nothing above is stored on this page. The cluster records its entry edge and the order of its turns; every edge in between is chained out of the same rule that draws a single turn.
A skater who rotates the other way does the same thing from LBI. Same element, mirrored.
Build on
- Right backward inside counterRBI to RFI: half a turn against the circle, holding the edge and leaving on a new one.
- Right forward inside mohawkRFI to LBI: a step onto the other foot, holding the edge and staying on the same lobe. No cusp.
