Two-foot turns
A mohawk and a choctaw change foot with no pivot on the blade, so there is no cusp: the tracing stops and starts again beside itself. The same rule governs them: the foot flips and the direction flips, so a mohawk stays on its lobe and a choctaw reverses.

Open and closed describe where the free foot is placed, and the blade draws the same tracing for both, so each of these is one element here. The tracing cannot tell them apart and neither pretends to.
