The pairing British Ice Skating asks for at Skills 7, from a backward inside edge and entered off a crossover. Two difficult turns joined, and the document says as much in its objectives.
The count matters here in a way it does not on a standing twizzle. Two and a half rotations leave the skater facing the way they did not start, so the counter’s check has to be set against where the twizzle will finish. Skaters who can do both separately and not together are almost always checking for the wrong exit.
Derived
RBO is three letters (foot, direction, edge): right foot, backwards, outside edge. Every edge in the guide is written that way, so RBI is a right foot travelling backwards on an inside edge.
RBO, counter to RFO, then 2½ twizzle to RBI. 2 turns on one foot, and the skater finishes on RBI.
Nothing above is stored on this page. The cluster records its entry edge and the order of its turns; every edge in between is chained out of the same rule that draws a single turn.
A skater who rotates the other way does the same thing from LBO. Same element, mirrored.
Build on
- Right backward outside counterRBO to RFO: half a turn against the circle, holding the edge and leaving on a new one.
- Right forward outside 2½ twizzleRFO to RBI: 2½ rotations on one foot, travelling, 2 curls and no cusp.
