RBO → RFI. A skater who rotates the other way traces LBO: the same element, generated from this one.

Two and a half rotations entered backwards on an outside edge, finishing the other way round from how it started. Rare outside a step sequence, and useful there for exactly that reason: it turns backward travel into forward travel without a step and without losing the line.

Blind at the start and sighted at the end, like every backward twizzle, but the half rotation moves where that changes. You come round to face the rink with half a turn still to find, which is the worst possible moment to discover the edge has gone flat.

Derived

RBO is three letters (foot, direction, edge): right foot, backwards, outside edge. Every edge in the guide is written that way, so RBI is a right foot travelling backwards on an inside edge.

RBO 2½ twizzle to RFI: 2½ rotations on one foot, travelling, leaving 2 curls in the tracing and no cusp anywhere. The lobe continues, and the half rotation turns the skater to face the other way, which is why the edge letter changes without the blade ever changing which way it curves.

A skater who rotates the other way does the same thing from LBO. Same element, mirrored.
