outside edge: the paler line
RBO → RFO → LBO. A skater who rotates the other way traces LBO: the same element, generated from this one.

A rocker from a backward edge into a step onto the other foot. This is the version the syllabus asks for at Skills 6, on all four backward entries, and it is entered from a crossover so the edge has to be made quickly.

Everything hangs on the check. A rocker rotates into its entry curve and then has to be stopped dead on the new one, and the mohawk gives you no time at all to do it in: the step is already happening. A rocker that runs on takes the free foot with it and the two elements merge into one long scrape.

Derived

RBO is three letters (foot, direction, edge): right foot, backwards, outside edge. Every edge in the guide is written that way, so RBI is a right foot travelling backwards on an inside edge.

RBO, rocker to RFO, then mohawk to LBO. 2 turns on two feet, and the skater finishes on LBO.

Nothing above is stored on this page. The cluster records its entry edge and the order of its turns; every edge in between is chained out of the same rule that draws a single turn.

A skater who rotates the other way does the same thing from LBO. Same element, mirrored.
