The other October addition, built from two things this test already contains: the double 3-turn from exercise 2 and the cross roll from Skills 2. What it changes is the join. The double runs directly into the cross roll with no edge in between, so the second turn has to be checked straight into a step, with no held lobe to settle on.

Everything in it hangs on that join. A cross roll needs the lean to cross the body, and a double 3-turn leaves the skater with rotation they have just fought to stop; asking for one straight after the other means the check cannot be a brace, because a braced body cannot then swing a leg through. It has to be a stop that leaves the hips free.

The rest is rhythm. Three steps per side, alternating, twice on each foot at a minimum, and whether the pattern travels is what separates it from a set of exercises: a version skated on the spot is technically complete and reads as drill.
