The same shape as an open chassé until the free foot leaves. An open chassé lifts it with the blade level; a slip chassé slides it away along the ice, ahead of the skating foot, so it is still bearing something as it goes.
The slide is the element and it is what makes the step quiet. A lifted foot has to be put somewhere afterwards; a sliding one is already going where it will be needed, and the weight crosses directly under the body. Impatience is the usual fault: take the foot up early and you have skated an open chassé under another name.
Not to be confused with the slip step, which is a different movement and has both blades flat on the ice throughout.
Derived
LFO is three letters (foot, direction, edge): left foot, forwards, outside edge. Every edge in the guide is written that way, so RBI is a right foot travelling backwards on an inside edge.
LFO slip chassé to RFI: the skater steps onto the other foot, the direction of travel does not change, and the lobe continues.
A skater who rotates the other way does the same thing from RFO. Same element, mirrored.
