LFI → LBO → RBO. A skater who rotates the other way traces RFI: the same element, generated from this one.

A bracket, then a rolling step onto the other foot and its outside edge. Two opposite demands in succession: a bracket has to be checked hard on landing, and a cross roll works only if the body is already rolling across to the new circle.

Which is why the pair gets practised together, as one thing. Check too long and the cross roll has nothing to roll with; release early and the bracket runs on and the exit edge is gone before the free foot arrives. There is a moment between them and it is short.

Derived

LFI is three letters (foot, direction, edge): left foot, forwards, inside edge. Every edge in the guide is written that way, so RBI is a right foot travelling backwards on an inside edge.

LFI, bracket to LBO, then cross roll to RBO. 2 turns on two feet, and the skater finishes on RBO.

Nothing above is stored on this page. The cluster records its entry edge and the order of its turns; every edge in between is chained out of the same rule that draws a single turn.

A skater who rotates the other way does the same thing from RFI. Same element, mirrored.
