inside edge: the darker line
LBI → LFI. A skater who rotates the other way traces RBI: the same element, generated from this one.

Backwards on the inside edge, rotating into the circle, out forwards still on the inside edge and onto a lobe curving the other way. It shares its awkwardness with everything else that begins on a back inside edge: the entry is the one you practise least.

What it buys you is a change of circle without a change of edge, which is how a step sequence travels in a straight line while every piece of it is a curve.

Derived

LBI is three letters (foot, direction, edge): left foot, backwards, inside edge. Every edge in the guide is written that way, so RBI is a right foot travelling backwards on an inside edge.

LBI rocker to LFI: the edge holds, the skater rotates into the circle, and the lobe reverses.

A skater who rotates the other way does the same thing from RBI. Same element, mirrored.
