RBO → RFI. A skater who rotates the other way traces LBO: the same element, generated from this one.

Backwards on an outside edge, one and a half rotations, out forwards on an inside one. Rarer than the forward entries and more useful than it looks: it turns backward travel into forward travel without a step, on one foot, while still going the same way down the ice.

The difficulty is that it starts blind and finishes sighted, so the half of it you can see is the half already decided. Everything that matters has happened by the time the rink comes back into view.

Derived

RBO is three letters (foot, direction, edge): right foot, backwards, outside edge. Every edge in the guide is written that way, so RBI is a right foot travelling backwards on an inside edge.

RBO 1½ twizzle to RFI: 1½ rotations on one foot, travelling, leaving one curl in the tracing and no cusp anywhere. The lobe continues, and the half rotation turns the skater to face the other way, which is why the edge letter changes without the blade ever changing which way it curves.

A skater who rotates the other way does the same thing from LBO. Same element, mirrored.
